I have a ns-wbrdvd blu-ray player, I have it connected to my LCD TV via an hdmi cable. I have it also connected to my 5.1 ch receiver via a spdif optical cable. Should I set the digital output to bitstream legacy or bitstream mixed?  Also what should the pcm downsampling rate be set to 48 khz or 96kHz? Thanks for any help.

I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

It sounds like you want bitstream Legacy.

Bitstream mixed is for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, while Bitstream legacy is for Dolby Digital 5.1 or 6.1, or DTS 5.1... which is what you said you have.

Is there an 'auto' setting for the pcm downsampling rate? If there is, leave it on auto. If not, 96kHz is the better quality one, but it all depends on what your receiver can handle.

Jax Thanks for the help, I will try that. The unit does not have an auto option, just off, 48 or 96. I will try 96 as see what happens.
