Hello,
My 27" NS HDTV keeps turning  itself off and then in order to get it back on I have to unplug it wait a few seconds and then plug  it back in. Sometimes it will run for a 1/2 an hour or more other times it shuts off again in a few minutes. I pushed the sleep button on the remote and selcted sleeper off but it still keeps shutting down. Any suggestions on what could be the problem>

I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Does it always after the same amount of time or does it happen randomly?

Devices that have poor ventilation will automatically turn off if they get too hot. Is it in a corner with very poor ventilation or up against something else that would also be hot?

it seems to turn off at random intervals. It is located in a corner but diagonal to the corner so ventilation should not be a problem. It has been located in this same spot since we have owned it w/o prior problems. We have had the set for about 3 years.

This could be caused by any number of problems from bad connections, to power board issues. Some manufactures put in error codes by flashing lights in certain patterns right before or after the tv shuts off. I'm not sure if insignia does.

Does anything happen when it shuts off? Look for a series of flashing lights. If you spot that and count it, search it online or call up tech support and tell them what's happening and they should know what that error message means.

You should try to reset its settings and try to see if it would work. Then if not, your HDTV might be overheating.
